My PCC columns were all done in the 1980s while I was workingas a full-time free-lancer. Starting in 1987 I changed to full-time work, writing manuals for Informix, then Novell, finally SGI. In 1998 I semi-retired, doing volunteer activities (most recently - refurb'ing PCs for use by the elderly) and working on a different kind of book: self-help/inspiration for the skeptical. That's finished and being read by two possible publishers.
