My first computer was the plastic Digi-Calc toy. There was a boyscouts explorer post dedicated to computers in the Philadelphia suburbs
where I grew up. The Franklin Institute had a computer class and my first
computer language was APL. This was in 1973 and I was about 13 when
all this was going on, including my subscription to PCC's newspaper,
and the 3-headed dragon shirt I proudly wore. I got a degree in EECS
from Princeton in 1981, I moved to Silicon Valley, and I now live in
Menlo Park! Who'da thunk it?
